INTELLIGENCE

English Bulldogs are
Very SMART.

You can train a bulldog to sit and stay in 1 to 2 days despite their reputation for being stubborn, we assure you it is not from a lack of intelligence!
They are very AFFABLE, INCREDIBLY SOCIAL and can live (indoors) anywhere that is temperature controlled, even a small apartment.
Please be aware that English Bulldogs are INDOOR DOGS, and need shelter from extreme temperature and environments.

COMPASSION

Our English Bulldogs are Docile and Even Tempered.  This quality is STRONG in our English Bulldogs.  English Bulldogs are stoic, yet compassionate, with a presence that is not to be ignored.

As adults they play gently with our children, and are curious but calm around our other pets (cats & exotic birds).  Our English Bulldogs have the Best Temperament of any breed or bulldog out there.
This is generalized behavior of English Bulldogs in a loving, stable home-life. Any animal can react negatively in certain circumstances, so always use caution and be self-aware.

More Fun Characteristics About Bulldogs

• ​LOVE, LOVE, LOVE:  These are TRULY the happiest, child-like, affection-STALKING pets ever. They will undoubtedly show you the most Love you've ever received from an animal.
• PERSONALITY for DAYS:  They are mini people. The range of emotions, and facial expressions are without competition.
• WATCHDOG of the YEAR  (& we don't mean TV only):  These aren't the Yippy Type that bark  incessantly at every little noise.  No, Bulldogs have other things to do (like chewing their fav toy) than to waste their time uselessly.  However if they sense a  REAL THREAT they have a big bark and bite to follow.  You'll feel as safe as you would with a basic alarm monitoring system that needs the occasional treat here and there.

• INTELLIGENCE to spare .  They are in NO way stupid.  They have tricks of their own, may love TV and playing ball (catching more than returning sometimes).  If they aren't doing what you want, it's not from a lack of knowing how  most likely.
• BALANCED TEMPERAMENTS: They are very calm-headed mostly, yet with the Playfulness of a 4 year old they can get overly-excited, especially as pups.
• GREAT PHYSICAL BALANCE almost any bulldog is pre-wired for a good skateboard ride. Watch these natural born surfers take to the board!
• COMEDIANS they are:  Just Google English Bulldog videos and you'll see the hours of GOOFINESS these furry friends will give you.  They really need to have their own TV show.

• ANIMAL/KID-FRIENDLY.  It takes A LOT to upset the laid-back English Bulldoggy.  These dogs have been tested again and again, and we  ALWAYS FIRST breed for
  
• QUALITY TEMPERAMENTS,  they inherently carry an EVEN temperament, even if provoked by an annoying cat or cockatoo as we have observed, their curiosity overpowers aggression.  This calm attitude with children and other pets, is one of their STRONGEST TRAITS, however PLEASE do not  assume they have any more patience than a person, and should ALWAYS BE treated with respect because as we said before, they are not stupid and will only put up with so much before the warning appears.

Outings & Adventures

• WALKS:  Bulldogs are good with walks (shorter versions typically) and they truly enjoy a good Play date at the doggie park even more (fitting with their need to socialize).  They are typically great Off-Leash and should behave without bolting without warning, however if they do take off running for some reason, they usually don't go too far.

• CAR RIDES: This can be a positive, neutral or negative activity for English Bulldogs, but typically they LOVE the car. Depending on their personality and training, almost all of our dogs have an exceptional LOVE for being the Copilot and taking leisurely outings, often.
• OTHER RIDES:  We mean anything that has a board, Skateboard, Surfboard, even a basic Rolling Cart!  They just can't help getting excited over these toys due to their low center of gravity, their balance is remarkable!

Beating the Stereotype: Health Problems

English Bulldogs have a HORRIBLE reputation as having many health problems, but like any dog breed (and depending on the specific breeder/dog), you will find more problems in certain bloodlines.      

Some of the most common issues are the Non-Serious/Non-Life-Threatening health problems such as interdigital cysts, and cherry eye.   WE GUARANTEE AGAINST THESE ISSUES AND CAN HELP YOU WITH EASY AT-HOME CARE AND AID IF ANY OF THE ABOVE LISTED SHOULD HAPPEN.  All English Bulldogs are susceptible to heat exhaustion, and require attention outdoors at all times, as well as daily/bi-daily ear, feet and skin cleanings to avoid skin/medical issues.

 All Bulldogs benefit from regular health screenings and can be expected to happily  live 9-14 years with attention and loving care over their lifetime. 

Even the Best of Us Have Faults...

• ENGLISH BULLDOGS CANNOT TOLERATE EXTREME TEMPERATURES. These are truly indoor dogs which Thrive Inside! Please do not attempt to adopt from us if you have any intentions of leaving them unattended outside!
• ATTENTIVE MONITORING & CLEANING of the ears feet, nose and skin folds is NECESSARY or sores such as interdigital cysts can occur.
• CHEWING can be the most annoying trait you can find with a bored or teething bulldog. Chew toys and deterrents (like a coin-filled can) will help curb this bad habit, as will growing out of the puppy stage.
• THEY HAVE MORE MUCUS THAN A 2 YEAR OLD! We suggest a Kleenex schedule, and then just hope they find a blanket before they find your pant leg when the boogers happen.
• STUBBORNNESS: Not to be confused with ignorance. These dogs are very intelligent decision-makers and are motivated by their own desires. A strong bond, PATIENCE and a lot of psyching-out will help.
• ENGLISH BULLDOGS are NOT low maintenance, however once you become trained to their 'ways', you will find that adopting your next English Bulldog from us will Bring You a Lifetime of Happiness & Great Memories.
